We had just opened Kliks when Madonna released her Martha Graham-esque "Frozen" video. Someday, I thought, I'm going to photograph that.

Twenty-seven years later, this little power pack comes in for holiday photos wearing a bright graphic sweater. When we finished with the standard photos, I asked if she'd be interested in changing into a black top and a tulle skirt from my dressing room.

To quote her directly, "I've never worn a skirt in my life!" to which, her parents concurred, "It's true, she's really never worn a skirt in her life."  

Normally, I'd let it go, but I sensed her enthusiasm brimming, so I asked one more time.
