Let's just say, as a "seasoned" photographer, I've captured many tiny-faced smiles through the years. I'm remembering all the little guys sporting their big-boy ties while clutching their Matchbox cars.
A memorable moment was when Preston came in with his prizewinning 4-H rooster who kept one eye on me (the right one) at all times. This year, when Preston's mom called to book his senior photo session, I was taken aback, wait-what-when? As he walked into my studio and headed towards the dressing room, I had to gather my senses and calculate just how he was able to grow taller than me. When did his big-boy tie turn into something for college applications?
As a parent, it's difficult to reckon with the pace of change. As a photographer, I'll hit the pause/shutter button so that the tiny moments remain.
